The motto at Study is "making fashion without making waste" which is a laudable goal when you consider that the fashion industry wastes up to 65% of the textiles produced even though as much as 50% of is recyclable.

The 67th Emmy's occurred this past Sunday September 20th. I'll be honest, I've never bothered to watch the ceremony since I don't watch most of the shows that are nominated. However, I have always been interested in seeing what everyone is wearing.

What I love about Freedom of Animals, in addition to their name of course, is their partnership with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust based in Kenya, that aims to protect Africa's wildlife especially endangered species such as elephants and black rhinos.
My Favorite Author: Agatha Christie
Agatha Christie is a legend. She is one of the most published and best selling authors of all time and is widely regarded as the queen of mystery. I began my lover affair with her when I was about 8 years old. Being the youngest of three, I was left to my own devices for the most part since my older siblings preferred to hang out with each other, and not the 'baby' of the family.
My Style: Neoprene
I am a tomboy at heart but always had a hard time finding sneakers that worked for me because I have skinny calves. After years of endless squats I've managed to make them a little bigger than I started with, but even I have to admit that being teased for having 'chicken legs' when I was growing up was based on fact.

The Controversy Over Size
I was drawn to an article in Forbes yesterday because it tackled a topic I'd always struggled to understand: why is clothing size such a touchy subject in the western world? Perhaps it's because I grew up in Kenya where I can't recall me or anyone else I knew thinking about it, or perhaps it's because I was a die hard tomboy until my mid twenties.
My Style: Flowers in the Park
This dress was a great score that I found on the clearance rack at Macys. It's lightweight and with the fun floral print, it's perfect for summer on its own (to show off the detail in the back) or in the spring with a jacket. I paired it with this veiled beanie that I've been dying to wear. It's probably not appropriate for summer but who cares right?

My Style: Easy Tank
I love a dress for the same reason every woman does, one piece and you're done. This tank dress is easy to wear because the neutral color goes with everything, especially my veiled leopard print beanie. I paired this with some sneakers and a shrunken denim jacket to keep me warm when the temperature dropped in the evening.
