Every time I wear these shoes I feel like the king of pop Michael Jackson, he always had a snazzy pair of shoes on when he performed. I'm a firm believer that every item of clothing or accessories you put on should make you feel fabulous because what's the point of wearing anything that makes you feel frumpy? 

When I first saw this hat, I was drawn to it yet terrified of it all at the same time. It reminded me of the hats rice farmers wear in Asia, but yet it was so stylish. Concerned that I couldn't pull it off, I didn't buy it when I first saw it online. 

I'm a firm believer that your home should be a reflection of your personality and I tried to do just that with my décor in my Minneapolis apartment. Neutral décor with 'pops of color' seems to be the current (and safe) trend, but the last thing I want is to end up with a cookie cutter home because quite frankly, that is not who I am. While almost everything else in my apartment came from the home I used to own in Las Vegas, I needed a new couch to fit the much smaller scale of my current living room.

Fresh or faux flowers? It wasn't too long ago that it was considered a serious faux pas to use anything but fresh flowers but the tide has started to change. One major reason for this is that the quality of artificial flowers has drastically improved over the years. These aren't your grandmother's dusty silk flowers sitting forlornly by the window sill. Instead, these are the faux flowers you'll find at a White House state dinner as arranged by floral designer Livia Cetti, and even the renowned and uber chic Anna Wintour is reportedly a fan of her work.

When I moved to Minneapolis three years ago, I had to get creative with storage solutions. I had accumulated a lot of possessions from when I lived in Las Vegas where I had a three bedroom house which is more than twice the size of my new 900 sf apartment (still pretty large by most standards for a single person). With more than 200 pairs of shoes, countless articles of clothing, several hats and a substantial accessory collection, I needed to make it work as Tim Gunn would say.
