Sustainable Style: Riyka

Every week we feature a sustainable brand on our blog. This week's featured brand is Riyka.

East London based Riyka is the product of husband and wife team Vedra and Rebecca Johnson. The brand produces apparel that has simple shapes but with contrasting colors, textures and geometric shapes that are reminiscent of the fun and playful culture of the 70's. The materials used are a mix of natural reclaimed and organic fabrics such as denim, leather and cotton resulting in wearable yet stylish clothing.

Case in point in the Arewa dress above. I love the way it's styled because it showcases how retro yet current the dress is and how easy it is to wear. The color blocking in various shades of blue makes it interesting without it being too intimidating for those that find it tricky to experiment with color.
