I'm the farthest thing to a makeup guru that you'll find as I've mentioned before on the blog but over time, I've learned to embrace the fact that a little makeup goes a long way to making me look polished -it wouldn't do to only look put together from the neck down.
With the help of endless YouTube makeup tutorials, I've learnt how to fill in my brows and the rest - tinted moisturizer, blush and mascara weren't too difficult to figure out. The one thing I've had trouble mastering is lip color. I've never taken to lipstick, finding it to be too high maintenance with the constant reapplication. I've been using the MAC Pro Longwear Lip Color but I found it too drying even though I loved the staying power of the stain.
In search of a solution, I want to the MAC counter at a department store and discovered the MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil. For me it's perfect, applies like a lip balm but with a wide range of colors that gently stain the lips without drying. While it costs more than some of their lipsticks, it gives me enough bang for my buck that I'll continue purchasing it. I just hope that they don't discontinue it.
