This week's sustainable brand is a little bit different than the brands we've featured in the past. Rather than design and manufacture their own pieces, Awamaki connects rural Andean women to global market opportunities (and supports them with skills training), which empowers and enables them to earn an income to not only support themselves and their families, but to transform the communities they live in. As if that is not enough, Awamaki is also a non-profit, ensuring that the women get the full benefit from their work.
